More about me

I am a Canadian/British arts educator and artist currently residing in Barnack, UK. I am inspired by nature. I can be frequently found roaming the countryside with either my dog, Charlie or paddling the River Nene in my fuchsia pink kayak.

My creative journey began with photography in my young adult years, spending hours in a chemical darkroom developing black and white images. That portfolio opened the door to the Ontario College of Art & Design (OCAD) in Toronto, where I immersed myself in painting, drawing, and sculpture, ultimately earning my Bachelor of Fine Arts.

Following graduation, I expanded into the digital realm at Sheridan College for Applied Arts, studying computer graphics before launching a twelve-year career as a graphic designer. A desire for new experiences then led me to Japan to teach English—a transformative chapter where I discovered how deeply art is woven into Japanese education across all subjects, not just confined to art classes.

Inspired by this holistic approach to creativity in learning, I returned to Canada to complete my Bachelor of Education. This path eventually brought me to the UK over eleven years ago, where I've been teaching Visual Arts ever since. Living here has been a gift—the landscape, architecture, and cultural richness of this country continue to inspire both my teaching and my own artistic practice.
